Method 1. Open It By Using System Configuration Option
In this method, you’ll gonna use your System Boot Configuration to give an order to your computer to make it boot in safe mode on next system startup. To open your system boot configuration you can use your windows Run Commander or maybe search “System Configuration” on Cortana. So, it’s all on you to choose which method, and if you wanted to use the run commander then you’ll need to press “Windows + R” key to start run commander and then in the black field just type ”msconfig” and press enter. After when the configuration pop-up open, click on the boot tab from the upper menu selection and look for the boot setting. Now you’ll need to tick the “Safe boot” checkbox to make your system boot on next startup. Normally, in this safe mode boot configuration the default setting set on minimal, but you can easily change it according to your use and here’s the listed detail about those options down below: Minimal – In this option, your safe mode starts with the required amount of drivers and services in a normal Windows Graphical User Interface. So, you can’t use any extra drivers or background services like antivirus. Alternate Shell – In this option, your safe mode starts only with the command prompt without the OS’s Graphical User Interface. So, when open your windows in this mode you can’t use anything besides the CMD. Active Directory Repair – In this option, your safe mode start in a Directory Services Restore Mode (DSRM) and in this boot option your windows Server domain controllers let the user to repair, recover and restore an Active Directory database. Normally this safe mode option only used in Windows Server Operating System. Network – In this option, you feel just like you are using normal safe mode but the benefit what you can take in this mode is you can access the internet and just because of that you can update and download drivers or maybe some program to make your system troubleshooting a lot easier.
Method 2. Use Shift + Restart Button Shortcut
The best or easy way to get into your safe mode is to open it by holding your keyboard’s shift key while clicking on the restart’s option. So, you’ll need to go to your power option and now you have to hold the shift key whiling clicking on the restart option. And when you have done with that, you’ll see Windows RE (Recovery environment) option after the system’s restart. In your Windows Recovery Environment you’ll need to select “Troubleshooting” options and when the second options appear, click on “Advanced options” and then choose “Startup Setting” and after that click on restart’s button shows on the screen.
After when your system gets restart, you’ll see your computer is showing your some startup options to choose. In those options, you can find all safe mode selection and by pressing the designated numeric or function key, you can easily open your system safe mode. So, if you wanna to open only safe mode then press Number 4 key or F4 key, or maybe if wanted to open safe mode with networking then you’ll need to press Number 5 key or F5 key.
Method 3. Use Windows Advanced Startup Setting
The another best way to open this feature by using your Windows 10 Advanced Startup Setting, by this option your windows take you to the Windows RE (Recovery Environment) mode just like the method 2 above in this article and after that, you can choose options to make your computer boot in this safe mode feature. So, first you’ll need to go to your Windows 10 setting page by pressing the Windows + I key on the keyboard, or otherwise, you can find this setting option in your Windows Start Menu’s options too. After when the setting’s page gets open, you’ll need to click on “Update & Security” option in order to get into the startup configuration option. Now click on the recovery selection and in that menu you can find the option name Advanced Startup. So, you can scroll above in this article and in the “Method 2” you can find the whole process what you need to do after opening your Windows Recovery Environment.
Method 4. Use F8 or Shift + F8 Key On Startup
In all previous versions of windows we use an F8 key on your computer’s startup to open advanced boot options where we are able to select the safe mode options to open it, but things changed a lot after when the Windows 8 came out and Microsoft disabled this feature by default. If you’re using an old computer with latest windows in it, then it’s possible by pressing the Shift and F8 key on your system’s startup can pause the boot process and take you to the “Advanced Option” but if you’re using a latest computer with a latest UEFI bios or maybe using SSD drive, then there’s no way you can interrupt your computer’s booting process by using any keyboard’s key.
Actually Microsoft did this because they wanted to speed up their windows startup process and limit the time to minimum, but the best part is you can still enable back this boot option by just using your windows command prompt and disable it back again when you’ve done with your work what you’ve wanna to do in your safe mode.
