It’s a Google Chrome problem and if you are using this browser in your operating system likes Windows, Mac, Linux or maybe Android, whatever you’re using in your computer it’s quietly possible you do suffering from this type of problem every time when the DNS service got fails. Sometimes this problem occurs while accessing a particular website or maybe accessing anything on the internet and whatever the reason with you, I’m definitely gonna help you out to fix this error from your computer. So Let’s Fix It:                            I was written all the best possible solution below to fix this error and 99% you’ll gonna fix it, now you’ll just have to repeat these given steps one by one in your computer or maybe on your mobile, until this error’s gone completely. Let’s Start With:

#1 Changing DNS Setting

Normally the DNS server obtains service set’s on automatically in your computer and sometimes it may be stopped working with chrome and that’s why we need to change that setting by manually entering the DNS server IP. We are using “Google Public DNS” server IP for our manual setup because is a FREE Domain Name System service offered by Google and the best part is, it’s providing domain name resolution for all host’s on the Internet. I divided this DNS setting changing tutorial according to the ‘operating systems’ as you can see listed below so, I’m starting with the windows DNS changing tutorial and for Mac and Linux, just skip this step and scroll down to see the tutorial for next OS which you’ve having. Changing My DNS IP to the Google Public DNS seems like the perfect solution I’ve found here, its 1 week from now and I don’t even have to change it back to the other one. Thanks for helping me.

#How To Change DNS In Windows

To change the DNS Setting you’ll need to go to “Network and Sharing center” and you can easily open it by various method but I’m only gonna show you the easiest way. First start your windows Run Command by using “Windows key + R key” and then type the command name “ncpa.cpl” on the commander and click “OK”.

When it gets opened, click on the “change adapter settings” option from the left-hand side panel.

Now Right Click on the current active network adapter and then click on the properties option to get into the configuration mode (I’m doing this with my wifi adapter because I’m using wifi and if you’re using LAN wire cable then you’ll need to right-click on “LOCAL AREA NETWORK ADAPTER” or maybe “Ethernet” Adaptor, whatever suit your condition).

On the Properties window, you’ll have to Scroll down to the “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” option and then click on it and after when you click on it, it will highlight the properties option and after that, you’ll have to click on that “properties” button too.

On that “Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)” window you can see there is an option named “Use the following DNS server addresses” listed and now you’ll have to select it and change the setting from “Obtain DNS server address automatically” to the other one.

After that, it will ask you to enter the IP address in both rows and you’ll just need to enter “8.8.8.8” in the Preferred DNS SERVER and “8.8.4.4” in Alternate DNS SERVER as you can see in the picture given below. And finally, click on “OK” to save the setting.

Now restart your computer to see the changes and its 50% possible your problem is gone and if it does not then move to our next step.

#How To Change DNS In Mac

To change your Mac DNS, first you’ll need to go to your Mac “System Preferences” from the Apple menu and after that select the option named “Network” in that menu. I changed the DNS server In IPv4 and now I have a control on my google  chrome.

Now Double-click on the connection what you’re using to surf the internet or what you want to change DNS for it. After that click on “Advanced” button to open advanced setting options. Normally active connection will be having a Green Light next to it:

On the connection properties window, click the DNS tab. Now Use the + or – symbols to add or remove the DNS servers in your connection.

I’m only recommending you to use Google public DNS server which is listed below:

8.8.8.8 8.8.4.4

When you’ve done, click on “OK” to change the configuration.

#2 Flushing DNS Setting

Normally your operating systems DNS client will automatically save the cache IP addresses or some other DNS kinds of stuff too, in order to speed up subsequent requests to the same hostname and because of some saved corrupted cached results, this problem can occur and that’s why it will need to be cleared from that saved cache storage in order for your network to communicate with the hostname properly. It’s possible your computer’s saved DNS cache got corrupted too and to fix it, you’ll need to flush all cached DNS from your computer and the given step below will help you to do it.

#How To Flush DNS On WINDOWS

All these procedures are same for all windows version: Thanks a lot! YOU, I really messed up with this thing, try to do something again and again, but this ipconfig /flushdns in CMD and dscacheutil -flushcache in Terminal works perfect for me. Everything works as it should now.

First, open the Run Commander in your windows by pressing the Windows Key +R key at the same time. After that type, the “cmd” in the text box and that will open your windows Command Prompt.

Now type the command “ipconfig /flushdns” and then press enter, it will flush all cached DNS from your PC.

After that restart your computer and test it, if the problem still stays then open the cmd again and try the 2nd command listed below. Second command: “netsh winsock reset catalog” (only try when the above once won’t works).

#How To Flush DNS On Mac OS

Flushing the DNS in Mac OS X is an easy process, but the steps taken will depend on which version of OS X you are running.  So, first open your Command terminal and type the command on it according to your OS versions which I’m all listed below. Note: Enter the command and then it will ask you to enter the password so, give it to the commander. Note: Only this single command will fix the problem.

For “Mac OS X El Capitan” Type:   sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder For “Mac OS X Yosemite” Type:   sudo discoveryutil udnsflushcaches For “Mac OS X Mavericks” Type:   sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder For “Mac OS X Mountain Lion” Type:   sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder For “Mac OS X Lion” Type:   sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder For “Mac OS X Snow Leopard” Type:   sudo dscacheutil -flushcache For “Mac OS X El Capitan” Type:   sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder For “Mac OS X El Capitan” Type:   sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder For “Mac OS X Leopard and below” Type:   sudo lookupd -flushcache

Great instructions that was easy to follow!   To reset your chrome: If the resting chrome won’t work the maybe you should try to reinstall it:  To uninstall or change a program:

#Extra Fix-Up For Windows Users

In windows operating system Microsoft’s DNS client also having some support for local Server IP caching, in the form of a DNS Client service (also known as DNS CACHE). And restarting this service may help most of the time. Believe it or not but installing updates and restarting chrome works for me.   To restart your Windows DNS Client service:

First, you’ll need to open your run commander by pressing Windows key+ R key at the same time. After that type “services.msc” in the dialog box and click OK, that will open your windows services window and at here you can restart your DNS client service easily. Now scroll down to the “DNS client”. And then Right Click on that DNS client. Now you will find the Restart option, just click on it and that will restart the service.

#At Last, Final Solutions

At last, I have some more solutions left for you what you can still try to fix your problem if the above once won’t works for you. Restart your PC – Normally we just shut down the computer and not even think about to restart it once in a while, but that little restarting thing did stress out your computer system and maybe you should try to do it now. Disable Antivirus And Firewall – You can also try to fix this by disabling your antivirus program and the windows firewall feature too. Update your Network Driver – I suggested some of my website users to update their network’s drivers and that did help most of the time. Restore your PC – If your Operating system’s having a facility for restoring itself to the past setting then maybe you should try to do it and restore your computer to that time when all things working properly. Modem or Router Problem – if you’ve having this DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NXDOMAIN problem on chrome while accessing any website or maybe having some error problem on your other browsers too then its quietly possible your router or may be modem (whatever you’ve having) got faulty because 99% this problem solved by the all suggestion I’ve mention above in this article and only 1% possibly left for your network device to get broke.
